Despite placing much emphasis on the economic aspects of the situation in Catalonia, there are hardly any economists in the two programmes. Besides, these analysts display little pluralism, as they are almost all from the PSOE arena: Miguel Sebastián was minister in the government of Rodríguez Zapatero, Gonzalo Bernardos defines himself as “a social democrat” and José Carlos Díez was appointed as coordinator of the economic area for the thirty-ninth PSOE congress.
