Las casas de ladrillo de Mies: material de laboratorio para la Weissenhof.

Abstract

Las obras de vivienda unifamiliar construidas por Mies van der Rohe a finales de los años 20 reflejan algunas constantes en las estrategias de proyecto utilizadas en cuanto a los modos de apropiación del territorio, la composición de volúmenes o la relación del espacio doméstico con su entorno inmediato. Por otro lado, el primer proyecto realizado por Mies en 1926 para la colonia Weissenhof en Stuttgart plantea una manera de enfrentarse a los problemas del habitar colectivo y su adaptación al lugar que no se corresponde con la solución finalmente ejecutada. El artículo propone un análisis de esta primera propuesta de Siedlung desde algunas estrategias de habitación e implantación en el paisaje ensayadas en los proyectos de vivienda unifamiliar de Mies, en una relación bidireccional entre vivienda unifamiliar y colectiva que permite seguir pensando la ciudad moderna a través del material histórico de los maestros.

The single-family houses built by Mies van der Rohe in the late 1920s reflect recurrent project strategies in his work in such issues as the ways of grasping the territory, the composition of volumes, and the relationship between domestic and outdoor spaces. On the other hand, the first project drawn by Mies in 1926 for the Weissenhofsiedlung in Stuttgart proposes a way of addressing the theme of collective housing and its adaptation to the site that does not coincide with the solution finally implemented. The paper proposes an analysis of this first proposal for Siedlung from some housing strategies and their relationship with the landscape that were tested in Mies' single-family housing projects. Both scales of single-family housing and collective housing relate bidirectionally in a manner that allows the rethinking of the modern city through the historic material by the masters.
