Habitación coraza: el espacio del refugio.

Abstract

Si "la casa es el contenedor, la cáscara, de un hogar", la habitación podría ser el refugio, la coraza, del ser solitario. Muchos han buscado en ese espacio doméstico su refugio físico: frente al exterior, frente a sus miedos, o frente a sí mismo. La 'habitación coraza' es, por tanto, una segunda piel y un lugar mágico: el espacio que permite protegerse, retirarse, esconderse o aislarse. Observar la arquitectura de la habitación desde el interior, desde estas situaciones de periodos de refugio, se convierte en el objetivo para entender otras cualidades espaciales de estas unidades mínimas. Singulares narraciones literarias –Dostoievski, de Maistre, Perec– y particulares experiencias artísticas –Bourgeois, Nauman, Beuys– se utilizan como instrumento en esta deriva: para acercarse al binomio acción-cuerpo; para medir el contorno, recorrer el espacio o referenciar el contexto de la habitación desde el cuerpo del 'soñador'. La 'habitación coraza' es un acercamiento espacial, estratégico y proyectual.

If "the house is the container, the shell, of a home" the room could be the refuge, the cuirass of the solitary person. Many inhabitants have seen this domestic space as a physical refuge: against the outside, against their fears, or against yourself. The 'cuirass room' becomes a second skin, a magic place: the space to protect, go off alone, hide away and isolate yourself. The objective is to observe the architecture of the room from the interior, from these isolation periods, and to understand other spatial qualities of these minimum units. Some literary works –Dostoyevsky, de Maistre, Perec– and some artistic experiences –Bourgeois, Nauman, Beuys– are used as the elements of this drift: to approach the action-body binomial; to measure the perimeter, to walk the room, or to reference the context of the room from the 'dreamer's' body. The 'cuirass room' is a spatial, strategic and architectural approach.
