La persona como centro arquitectónico irrenunciable :Cuatro cuestiones fundacionales: epistemológica, antropológica, ética y sentido

Abstract

La arquitectura, como único arte con fundamento y razón de necesidad, debe tener presente en todo momento que está sujeta a condicionantes irrenunciables que van más allá del gusto de su tiempo o el parecer de su creador. Es imprescindible establecer unos criterios independientes de modas y estilos cambiantes, o de caprichos de arquitecto, que permitan valorar con ecuanimidad la idoneidad de la arquitectura a través del tiempo. Se hace un balance del estado de la profesión, y se señalas los desvaríos profesionales más habituales, provenientes de un ejercicio profesional carente de orientación sólida, estable y argumentable sin fisuras. Se proporcionan estos criterios a la luz de cuatro cuestiones filosóficas: epistemológica, antropológica, ética y de sentido, avaladas por el pensamiento de filósofos y arquitectos de reconocido prestigio. Se comprueba que la centralidad de la persona, el usuario, el habitante, y su satisfacción a través del tiempo, es probablemente el mejor, único e irrenunciable fiel de la balanza que permite determinar si la arquitectura analizada cumple o no su cometido original.

Architecture, as the only art founded upon and explained through necessity, must bear in mind at all times that it is bonded to inalienable conditions that go beyond the esthetics of its time or the will of its creator. It is essential to establish criteria that are independent of changing fashions and styles, or the capriciousness of the architect, that allow the suitability of architecture to be assessed with equanimity over time. A balance of the state of the profession is made, and the most common professional follies are pointed out, coming from a professional exercise lacking solid, stable and arguable orientation without detours. These criteria are provided in the light of four philosophical questions: epistemological, anthropological, ethical and of meaning, endorsed by the thought of philosophers and architects of recognized prestige. It is verified that the centrality of the person, the user, the inhabitant, and their satisfaction over time, is probably the best, unique and inalienable goal to be satisfied, that allows determining whether or not the analyzed architecture fulfills its original purpose.
