The importance of athletes’ results in the Olympic Games’ coverage can also be seen in the thematic quantification of the registered news units’ headlines. The headlines of a sports chronicle, as Néstor Hernández ( 2003:125), affirms are instruments of semantic concentration and communicative appeal. Therefore, their analysis provides a vision of the issues that the newspaper considers relevant to the information. In the headlines of the news units about national sportswomen (see. Fig. 5), it is verified that more than 50% of the results of their participation is highlighted.
